A regular program for homeschool families and groups. These classes are held 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon the fourth Monday of each month (except December). Hike and nature journaling always included. Prepay for five classes and get a sixth class free. For ages 5 and up (younger may come). Fee: $5.00/child.  Call DRA to register. Shot throughout four seasons, Community Conservation: Finding the Balance Between Nature and Culture is a documentary film profiling four active land trusts in different regions of Maine: coastal, inland, western mountains and downeast, to show how each of these land trusts work closely with their communities to provide multi-purpose access to conserved lands. You will be working with a professional who is willing to teach! Bring your own tools if you prefer to use them, otherwise we can provide all tools and safety equipment required. Join us for a morning run through the fields at Great Salt Bay Farm. All ages and abilities welcome! Terrain consists of broad mown trails with some gentle hills and fabulous views of Great Salt Bay. Every other Saturday, October 14 through December 9: October 14 October 28 November 11 November 25 December 9 If the weather is very wet or icy, or otherwise looks bad for running, be sure to check our Facebook page for cancellations. Take a walk on the wild side and join us for a non-scary, self-guided story walk with Poison Ivy the friendly witch (or Ivy for short), meeting several costumed characters along the way, then come inside for the ‘Gross-ology Lab!” The Lab will offer gloriously gross dissection activities indoors, where everyone will have the opportunity to take apart some owl “vomit” (pellets) and fish guts – and learn all about them.
